Robert is a language teacher turned software engineer by self-studying and with the help of the Software Engineering Immersive course at General Assembly in Singapore.
After teaching for many years, he felt stuck in his job and wanted to fast-track his on-and-off learning to code. Having found little success studying over the years by himself, the decision to get into a course environment was exactly right. One year of studying in total, and he found his first job just 2-3 weeks after graduating from GA, only to be laid off due to Covid-19. One must not give up and so he shortly after got a second chance and is now working for Glints.
Robert would gladly answer any questions regarding job hunt, the life and necessary skills of a junior developer, the importance of a good resume and tips for landing that first job.
