Risa Goodman has been working in startups and software since 2000, initially at Commission Junction, as the 70th hire, until 2010, when it was part of a 1.5K+ person company. She has been through all significant growth phases of a founder-led startup—while steadily conceptualizing and proving market-readiness for some of the most profitable, industry-defining services in the history of the company at every growth phase—proving that no matter what happens, Product Managers ship product! Most importantly, Risa brought customers into product and broke open the brotherhood of the black box, which helped her release a string of profitable, award-winning products while virtually managing global projects, such as the launch of a Commission Junction satellite office in Spain. After CJ, Risa had a successful consultancy working in e-commerce but wanted to return to Product Management. She is currently the Product Manager of Data & Transparency at Granicus.com. Risa is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College and one of the first 100 dMBA’s to matriculate form the esteemed design-driven MBA at California College of the Arts. She is currently working on a hand-drawn map of the best donuts in the East Bay.
