Richard Fawal
Associate Vice President of Communications, The Brookings Institution
Richard Fawal has spent more than two decades in politics, public affairs and entrepreneurship, with extensive experience in political campaigns, digital communications, and business management.
He was a founding owner of Austin, Texas-based Grassroots Solutions, Inc. from 1999 to 2007, and has served in senior positions at prominent Washington, D.C. public affairs firms servicing clients such as the American Medical Association, Business Roundtable, Mayo Clinic, and the Financial Services Roundtable.
Richard currently serves as associate vice president for communications at The Brookings Institution, the nation’s oldest and most respected think tank, where he leads content strategy as well as video, graphics and web production. He is an active entrepreneur who advises technology-focused start-ups across the country, and is writing his first book, an analysis of how false logic and magical thinking impact public policy.
