Seattle
Although beer has always been a part of his life, Randy’s education and training started with a degree in Architecture. He was licensed and practiced in Denver, Colorado for well over 25 years - working for large international Architecture and Real Estate Development firms before going it alone and building a profitable design-build firm there.
Upon relocating to Washington to be with his now wife in 2009, Randy started another construction company - but it was short-lived. He had a desire to reinvent himself around something that felt more a bit more recreational. He and his friend Brian (Thiel) always socialized around beer, and enjoyed homebrewing beer, so plans were put in place to monetize it! Randy will tell you there is nothing like building something you believe in to get you to work long hours without pay!
Opening a brewery was a great chance to put his skills to use – every endeavor of this type requires design, construction and business management acumen. Randy’s role as Director of Operations for Ghostfish allows him to put them to use daily and also have fun with friends over a beer!
