    Ramsay Lanier

    Software Developer, Novetta

    Washington, D.C.

Ramsay is senior web developer with deep love for all things JavaScript. He is currently building cool stuff on the web using modern web technologies. He is specifically working with React, Node, GraphQL, and Elasticsearch. He also has experience working with Serverless to setup Amazon Web Service resources.

He created http://emojinate.com, a fun emoji app that doubles as a writing/creative thinking exercise. Mashable described it as "Mad-libs, but for emoji."

In his previous career, Ramsay was a CPA. He received a bachelor's degree in Accounting from Virginia Commonwealth University. While in college, he became a freelance web developer by teaching himself HTML, CSS, and jQuery. After graduating, he landed an account job but continued to freelance. After building a portfolio of work, he decided to change careers and became a full-time web developer.

When not writing or teaching JavaScript, he enjoys skateboarding and dad jokes.
