San Francisco
Patricia was born in Cabanatuan, Philippines, and moved to America at the age of six. After moving around a lot, her family finally settled in San Gabriel Valley, where she spent most of her childhood. Her love for writing came from her late grandfather who was a famous journalist back in the Philippines. It wasn’t until her second year of high school that she fell in love with poetry and spoken word. In her senior year, she joined her school’s poetry team and won at the Get Lit’s 2018 Finals.
Although her passion for writing is strong, she ultimately chose to pursue a career in STEM. She is currently a student at the University of California, Irvine studying civil engineering in hopes of making her community — as well as communities all over the world — a better, safer place. However, her passions for writing and art are still strong and she’s been continuing to look for ways to get back into writing and learn more about her Filipinx identity.
