Nicole Brooks is a native Michigander who relocated to Austin in 2014 to lead OwnLocal's marketing and communication strategy, including recruiting efforts. OwnLocal has more than doubled in less than one year, so she has experience with the hiring of all employees from entry level to senior C-suite roles. Nicole began her career at The Odyssey, a media startup, where she was involved in the expansion of the company to 400+ employees in sales, marketing, account management, and dev roles. As a self-taught marketer and recruiter and 2x startup veteran, she also has first-hand experience breaking into the local tech industry. She graduated from Michigan State University in 2011.
