Michelle Parsons holds a degree in biology and chemistry. She taught 9th grade science in Dallas, TX as part of Teach for America after graduating. After 2 years in the classroom, Michelle moved into the Education Technology space working at a 30 person startup called Alleyoop in roles such as curriculum development and analysis. She quickly learned that she had a keen desire to solve problems and moved into roles related to user research, UX design, and product. After a few months at Alleyoop, she was leading her own product team focused on building products to help students learn. Michelle held product roles in the EdTech space at companies such Pearson, Cengage and Harvard Business School. She spent 2.5 years at KAYAK as the Head of Product for Hotels, where she owned cross-platform product development for the end-to-end user journey from Search to Purchase. Michelle now leads a team focused on personalization and recommendations at Spotify. She has expertise in UI/UX, search, discovery and personalization systems.
