Mike is a data scientist and data science educator. In his role as data scientist at GoGuardian, he aims to improve the experience and safety for high school students in technology-driven classrooms. Additionally, as a Global Instructor of Data Science at General Assembly, he trains and mentors students as they transition into the world of data science and machine learning.

Hailing (or escaping) from the "ivory tower," Mike's background is in cell, molecular biology, biochemistry, and neuroscience, where he earned his PhD studying how genes interact with the mammalian visual system to mold visual circuitry and improve visual function. He's also has prior experience forecasting sales for In-N-Out Burger and building deep learning systems at Cloudsight.AI.
