Matthew has always been interested in how things work and the crazy innovation of technology, so naturally web development/software engineering felt like his logical next step. GA was his school of choice to get a jump start and really immerse himself in the developer world. He believes that GA has been an amazing resource for learning those disciplines. He’s made great connections with different instructors, and has easily grown his understanding through them and the great resources they’ve shared. Matthew hasn’t looked back since, and has been intrigued by the endless ever-changing knowledge of web development.

Just over a year after graduating from GA’s SEI program, Matthew found himself back working as an Instructional Associate. It has been an incredible experience for him and has really solidified fundamental concepts. With that growth, he’s been able to share and teach that knowledge to all the students he interacts with. Matthew really enjoys having such an influential and close relationship with his students. Seeing their growth throughout the bootcamp is very inspiring to him, and in some cases they eclipse his own comprehension. It is a challenge he looks forward to and has helped him grow tremendously as a developer.

Outside of his tech passion and career, you can find him in the mountains. He recently moved from Detroit to Denver and has been loving it. Almost every weekend, he plans a trip out to do a hike and always has big plans in the future for camping/outdoor adventures. Some of his other hobbies include disc golfing around parks and playing the saxophone. He comes from a very large family, and is the youngest of nine - so it’s safe to say he’s a family man. This made it hard for him to leave family behind in Michigan, but he’s eager to start the next chapter of his life.
