Matt Jones

Founder & Creative Strategist, Better Happy

Sydney

Matt Jones is a creative brand and business strategist with an unusual background.

Matt’s career began in economics and then politics. At the tender (and completely unprepared) age of 27, Matt was made Chief Political Adviser to the UK Conservative Party. In 2006, Matt moved from London to Sydney, and from political strategy into brand and marketing strategy.

Matt moved to New York in 2009, to become chief strategy and creative officer for Jack Morton, the world’s largest brand experience agency and in 2012, Matt returned to Sydney and set up his own consultancy, Better Happy.

Better Happy is a creative strategy consultancy with a focus on building purposeful brands and businesses fit for the 21st century.

Matt’s passion stretches from developing innovative strategies and compelling storytelling to building creative partnerships and design extraordinary brand experiences.

Matt has also built two brands from scratch since returning to Australia, a political party and a gin distillery. Only one has failed so far.
