Marc Harper is a data scientist with an extensive background in applied mathematics, mathematical biology, bioinformatics, educational technology, information theory, statistics, machine learning, and consulting. He holds a doctorate in mathematics from the University of Illinois, bachelor's degrees in mathematics and physics from the University of Florida, and was a postdoctoral scholar at UCLA. Marc has published numerous scientific papers, contributed book chapters and to open source projects, and has presented detailed analyses and data visualizations countless times to a wide range of audiences. As a consultant he created data- and statistically-driven products in biotechnology and educational technology. Marc loves to teach people and computers.
