Maha Haq is currently leading the education and research initiative at an ISO-accredited cannabis testing lab, CannaSafe Analytics ("CSA Labs"). She has conducted reports on the latest cannabis developments and investigations, one of which was featured on NBC News regarding the recent vape crisis dubbed "EVALI" – short for "e-cig/vape associated lung illnesses." Through community outreach and engagement, Maha is facilitating educational events and classes promoting responsible cannabis use and consumer safety as part of the laboratory's corporate responsibility. She is involved in several interdepartmental projects pertaining to laboratory and office operations.
Maha is further pursuing a M.S. in Medical Cannabis Sciences and Therapeutics at the University of Maryland, School of Pharmacy, the first cannabis graduate program in the nation. She received her undergraduate in Mathematics and Sociology at UCLA, where she founded the University’s first official cannabis student group, Cannaclub at UCLA. Under Maha’s leadership, Cannaclub expanded to 10 universities across the nation. The mission is to empower students interested in the cannabis industry while making a social impact. As former President of Cannaclub, Maha organized cannabis events, conferences, job fairs, and developed academic cannabis curricula. She was also an intern for the UCLA Cannabis Research Initiative ("CRI"), UCLA's program studying cannabis.
Maha started working at medical dispensaries in 2012, later entering dispensary management and operations for three years. She subsequently transitioned into cannabis tech with a delivery platform and was responsible for patient care and user experience management. Prior to CannaSafe, Maha worked at a cannabis consulting firm based in Denver conducting business development and license applications for numerous states and six countries.
Maha has dedicated eight years in the cannabis space and has spent her entire adult life studying and working with this plant.
