Luz Rivas
Luz Rivas is an engineer, educator and social entrepreneur passionate about getting kids to explore and innovate with technology. She started her career at Motorola where she was an Electrical Design Engineer working on position and navigation systems for the automotive industry. For over 15 years, she has worked in out-of school STEM education. In 2011, Luz founded DIY Girls with a mission to increase girls’ interest in technology, engineering, and making by providing hands-on experiences. Besides leading DIY Girls, she is also a co-founder of KitHub, a Los Angeles based startup which offers creative electronics kits for children. Luz has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from MIT and a Masters in Technology in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
