Laureen Asseo is heading a food revolution from her company headquarters in Chino Hills, CA. At only 24 years old, Laureen directs the operations and culinary teams of Nutrition Corp. distributing thousands healthy, convenient meals for active lifestyle consumers through their ION Nutrition and Fresh N’ Lean brand labels. For the past four years, her mission to get America eating healthy has become a reality.
Laureen’s parents immigrated to this country from France in the early 1990’s and made sure to instill in her a strong French heritage. After years of consuming processed foods, Laureen’s father experienced a concerning health scare when he went for a routine check-up and his tests showed dangerously high cholesterol and triglycerides levels. It was time to take major action to turn his life around; Laureen then began a rigid plant-based and organic dietary plan, which eventually reversed her father’s condition and also resulted in massive weight loss. This created her dedication to changing the way America eats with healthy meal options that taste great.
The vision was a lofty one at first, but demand grew after seeing her father’s results. Laureen began preparing hearty, organic and vegan meals for friends and family out of their own kitchen. As any woman on a mission, Laureen’s commitment relied on delivering food in home Tupperware containers until orders went beyond their existing network. Demand grew so rapidly that Laureen saw the opportunity to redefine the ‘woman in the kitchen’ cliché. Through creating a niche the market had never seen; Nutrition Corp. was born.
Laureen’s formative years were spent in Southern California where she graduated high school in Orange County. From there, Laureen’s innate sense of entrepreneurship self-actualized when she was accepted early at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and finished her program in less than two years.
What stewed in the kitchen in the hands of a young woman has grown into a movement that has sold millions of dishes. Laureen moves forward in amplifying nutrition education and accessibility leading the ION Nutrition and Fresh N’ Lean brands into the 21st century and beyond.
