Life began for Laura Copeland when an AOL CD-ROM landed in her mailbox in 1996, and she’s been obsessed with online-offline communities ever since. She’s worked with the Lakota Sioux tribe in rural South Dakota; with the deaf community across California; and with some colorful coastal-dwellers as a reporter for the Santa Cruz Sentinel, where in 2009 she broke the news that coffee shops were running out of Internet.
In 2013, she got into tech as a founding member of Lyft’s community team. Today, she continues to work closely with the company’s leadership to oversee community-building and advocacy for rideshare drivers.
