Kristy Peterson, M.Ed. has been to Antarctica. That’s not what makes her a great coach for students and recent grads, but it’s something you should know. You see, Kristy suffers from crippling seasickness. But when given the opportunity to go to the 7th continent, that didn’t stop her from 2 days at sea (each way) in some of the worlds roughest water. She puked. She cried. She went anyway because life’s adventures aren’t always easy. It takes grit and determination. And whether it’s Antarctica, surviving your first rounds of crap interviews and unjust rejections in order to get the first great job, or powering your way through grad school, it’s worth it. And she gets it.  Onto the professional cred: Kristy served for 9 years at UCLA as the Director of Student Outreach and Engagement, running a team of staff and volunteers in student leadership development and alumni relations programs. She then led the alumni relations department for The Buckley School, an independent K-12 in Sherman Oaks, for 3 years. Her areas of expertise include leadership training, networking, interview prep, life after college transition support and public speaking. Kristy earned her B.A. in Communication Studies with a minor in Psychology from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and her Masters in Education - Student Affairs from UCLA.
