Kevin D. Johnson is Sr. Economic Development Officer with Invest Atlanta, the official economic development agency for the City of Atlanta.The agency drives growth by utilizing successful marketing and business attraction strategies and by influencing and advising sound zoning/planning methods and financial incentives to create jobs and expand the local tax base. Kevin works on developing and implementing strategies to drive economic growth and development, support relationships with civic, business, governmental and economic development stakeholder constituents. The former Vice President of Economic Development for the St. Joe Company, focused on driving economic growth to the West Bay Sector adjacent to the new international airport which opened in May 2010 and creating national and international exposure for JOE`s projects at West Bay.
He was formally Vice -President of Business Development for the Research Triangle Foundation of North Carolina, owner and developer of the renowned Research Triangle Park. Previously, Mr. Johnson was VP of Business Development for the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, and served as President of the Athens, Georgia Chamber of Commerce and the High Point, North Carolina Economic Development Corporation. A Certified Economic Developer (CEcD), Mr. Johnson is actively involved in economic development education and mentoring, and served on the board of directors of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC)2003-2010.
