Kayla Mejire is a Junior Technical Instructor at Per Scholas Dallas, a national nonprofit that prepares motivated and curious adults for successful careers in technology and creates onramps to businesses in need of their talents.
She is currently part of the technical instructional team in the market-driven training program for Dallas campus, training learners in IT / Network support, and a co-instructor for the Cyber Security Class.
Kayla Started at per Scholas career as a Learner in IT Support program and was offered employment as an instructional assistant upon graduation, Earning her CompTIA A+ certification and a Per Scholas Core Value Award during her graduation.
Since then her passion for IT has greatly enabled her to further her career and acquire a few more certs under her belt, like Google IT, CompTIA Network+ and Security+ among others.
Prior to becoming an IT instructor, she has over six years of customer and client services varying from financial to Telecommunication sector.
She also serves as one of the Volunteer organisers of Black in Technology(BIT)DFW Chapter.
Kayla Earned a BA in Linguistics and Communication studies from the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Where she is originally from before moving to the United states many years ago. In her downtime, she enjoys DIY IT projects around the house for friends and family, mentoring teens, watching Tv show, reading, traveling, and freelancer for fundraising.
