    Karen Christians is an educator and maker in the metal arts. She developed the Hot Craft Studio for Jewelry at Artisan's Asylum in Somerville, founded the non-profit school Metalwerx: School forJewelry and the Metal Arts in Waltham and developed the Open Studios program in the Metals program at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education. Karen teaches and lectures nationally, and is published in many professional and technical magazines. She is the author of two books Making the Most of Your Flex-Shaft, and recently, Jewelry of Burning Man, which was funded on Kickstarter in 2014. She holds a BFA with Honors from the Massachusetts College of Art. Karen lives in Waltham with her husband and two cats.
