Julia Hensley works at the intersection of astronomy and technology. Her current obsession with space fuels "star systems", paintings that meld formal structure with organic flow and sometimes include accompanying soundscapes. She has shown locally and nationally at numerous venues including Out of Sight Seattle, Bridge Productions, Seattle Art Museum Gallery and the Paul Thiebaud Gallery in San Francisco. Trained in painting at Boston University's School of Visual Art, she lives in Seattle where in addition to her art practice she is currently a student of UX Design.
