Austin
A resident of Austin since 1999, John Egan has nearly 30 years of experience in journalism, brand journalism, content marketing, blogging, communications and public relations. He is editor in chief at Austin startup SpareFoot, which helps people find and book self-storage; at SpareFoot, he oversees five blogs and coordinates PR. In 2014, the SpareFoot-operated Storage Facilitator blog was named Best Online Newsroom by Ragan's PR Daily. From 1999 to 2006, John was editor and managing editor of the Austin Business Journal. A native of Kansas, John earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Kansas and is pursuing a master's degree in marketing from Southern New Hampshire University.
