John Dawson

John Dawson is a Hong Kong-based markets reporter for Bloomberg Television. Dawson, who has interviewed some of the world's leading newsmakers, provides in-depth coverage of Asia Pacific business, political and economic news. He also frequently moderates panels and speaks at high-level conferences and events throughout the region.
Dawson's 15 years in Europe (based in London) gives his work a timely European perspective. He joined Bloomberg in 1995 as the lead European markets reporter for Bloomberg’s news service, covering stocks, bonds and currencies, before joining Bloomberg Television in 1997. His time in television has seen him anchor several of Bloomberg Television’s European-based programs, including a prime-time show focused on hedge fund managers.
During his career, Dawson has conducted exclusive interviews with former General Electric Chairman and CEO Jack Welch and former BP CEO Lord John Browne, among others. He also covered 3GSM, now the World Mobile Congress, for five years.
Dawson has been nominated twice for Britain's Business Journalist of the Year award. He is a graduate of the University of London with a bachelor's degree in English and Classics.
