Joel G Goodman is a jack-of-all-trades marketer, designer, and front-end developer, and the principal of Bravery Media, LLC. He spent six years working in higher education web marketing at two institutions driving web marketing, branding and strategy aimed at increasing both student enrollment and alumni engagement and becoming a published author on those subjects.
At Bravery Joel leads design and strategy and provides custom-tailored training for clients in subjects like design for Content Strategists, processes for better HTML and CSS, Sass and Sass frameworks, and other web design topics. He has taught web design at Greenville College, Texas State University, and St. Edward’s University.
During off-hours, Joel has cultivated a strong portfolio of web design and WordPress theme development work with Dept. 3. Those projects ranged from food blogs to band websites. He was fortunate to build websites for Eliza Dushku, The Wood Brothers, Denison Witmer, Gypsy Fade, DJay Brawner, Anthem Films, and more.
As an undergraduate he earned a bachelor of science degree in Media Promotions. Joel spent seven years organizing, operating, and advising the AgapeFest music festival in Greenville, IL and three years with WGRN radio. He also holds a master of arts degree in Media Studies from The New School for Public Engagement. His academic interests lie in culture creation, transnational media affect, and semiotics in digital media.
Joel lives with his wife and corgi in beautiful Austin, TX where the sun shines warmly and tacos never run out.
