Joanna is the founder and co-director of Juta Shoes. In previous lives she studied Medical Anthropology, worked in public health, journalism, and communications, and nearly went to medical school before she realised she'd rather be making shoes. She was a 2016 Year Here fellow in social innovation and is a keen knitter.
Juta Shoes are handcrafted espadrilles made in London from reclaimed leather and environmentally-friendly materials.
We're a social enterprise: we employ passionate, skilled local women to make our shoes and lead our shoemaking workshops.
