Grant Canary is CEO of DroneSeed, a Techstars Seattle 2016 company which is paid by Timber companies and non-profits to use drones to plant tree seeds, spray to protect them, and monitor growth. In its most recent raise DroneSeed raised from traditional sources as well as 250K from Angel List Syndicate Drone.vc. Grant views Angel List Syndicates as the future of angel financing and an SEC approved form of "investor crowdfunding." DroneSeed is Grant’s second venture. His first was acquired. Under the acquirer he managed due diligence on a $10M raise and managed the construction of a 60,000 square foot factory.
