Elena Zheleva leads the Data Science team at LivingSocial where she works on applying statistical models to marketing problems. Elena received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2011. Her research lies in data mining and machine learning for social networks and social media. She has presented her research at top-tier conferences, such as KDD and WWW. She has 14 peer-reviewed publications with over 700 citations, and is the co-author of the book "Privacy in Social Networks."
