I have been in private practice for seventeen years and I specialize in helping individuals and couples cope with the stress of infertility and related reproductive health issues. My areas of focus include; third party reproduction counseling for intended parents, psychological evaluation of ovum donors and gestational carriers, multiple miscarriage, selective reduction, embryo disposition, fertility preservation, pregnancy anxiety post infertility, post partum depression, traumatic birth (neonatal loss, stillbirth) and accepting a child free life. I consult with clients around making informed decisions regarding family building options and help them to navigate the business of infertility treatment.
My treatment modalities include a combination of mindfulness-based practices, the psychodynamic process and cognitive behavioral therapy. My clinical specialty areas include major life transitions, grief and loss, depression and anxiety, and panic disorder. I place a strong emphasis on self-compassion and self-care. I recommend an integrated approach to infertility, which, in addition to behavioral health, includes the utilization of acupuncture, an alkaline-based diet, gentle exercise, and yoga for fertility.
In addition to my clinical practice, I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) and offer Yoga for Fertility workshops for women. I have been practicing yoga and meditation for thirty years. I am a graduate of Alice Domar’s Mind Body Fertility Program. I facilitate leader-led Resolve Support Groups. I hold professional memberships in ASRM (American Society for Reproductive Medicine), Resolve, and NASW.
After my own long, struggle with infertility, I felt compelled to specialize in infertility counseling. I am the proud mama to ten-year old twin daughters. They enlighten me every day.
