Melbourne
Dean currently works as a Data Scientist at Geografia. He advises government organisations on the use of data and implements data science techniques to improve government policy. Previously, he was an Eric and Wendy Schmidt Data Science Fellow at the University of Chicago. Here, he worked with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) to develop predictive models. These models allowed the NYSDEC to target their inspections of industrial sites and catch the worst offenders before they did serious damage to the environment and human health. Dean holds a Master of Economics from the University of Melbourne and his past work has been featured on CNN and IBTimes.com. In his free time Dean likes to pick up his guitar and pretend he is Jimi Hendrix, but his neighbours don't seem to appreciate that.
