Dave Krawczyk
Co-Founder & Director of Mobile Development, Windy City Lab
Dave is a software developer living and working in Chicago, Illinois. He believes in creating products to help improve peoples’ lives. Dave has been employed as a full-time in house developer since graduating from Illinois State University in 2012. He began at Deck5 Software as an iOS Developer on their Deckfolio app (Options Analysis & Education). After a year he was promoted to Lead Developer which presented the opportunity to make architectural decisions and work closely with the creative director to shape UI/UX of the application. Also at Deck5, Dave was able to spend some of his limited down time on creating the Chicago Neighborhoods app.
After Deck5, Dave was hired by Vodori Inc. and spent 7 months helping them take their in-house application from 1.0 to 2.0 in terms of functionality, stability, and UI/UX. After Vodori, Dave joined Mobile Makers Academy which gave him the chance to talk about iOS development every day in an environment that is focused entirely on learning. He was the Lead instructor for two bootcamps in San Francisco, the first with 9 students, and the second with 15.
All of these experiences have lead Dave to his most recent venture: Windy City Lab. Windy City Lab is the product of Dave and his colleague and friend: Kevin McQuown. They build Internet of Things products and share their findings with the tech community in the form of workshops. Here, Dave can truly perform his goal of creating products to help improve peoples’ lives.
