With a background in library and information science, Christine has always enjoyed what librarians call the reference interview – it’s about understanding who you’re talking to and what information they seek. When thinking about digital, she believes a web experience expands beyond content on a page to a conversation between the viewer and the content owner. As the Director of Digital Strategy at Aten Design Group, she works with stakeholders to interpret user needs, strategic objectives and content to anticipate the user’s needs before a first interaction takes place. This provides the foundation for creating an experience that supports digital conversations and findability. Chris has worked with inspiring organizations such as Human Rights Watch, Stanford University and the World Wildlife Fund to create systems that focus on the user and further the organization’s goals. She has spoken at eduWeb, Special Libraries Association events, DrupalCon and the University of Illinois WebCon.
