    IN CONVERSATION WITH CAIT:

What is your favorite technical skill to work with on your own projects and why?

My favorite technical skill to work with on my own projects is definitely anything related to data and data visualization. I love the process of taking raw, messy data and transforming it into clear, helpful visuals. Finding hidden patterns and stories within the numbers, and then using the data to tell a story in a way that makes complex information immediately understandable and actionable. For me, it's about making sense of the world through data and finding those key insights that can drive meaningful progress.

What is your favorite technical skill to teach to students and why?

When it comes to teaching students, my favorite technical skill to teach is experimentation. It's not just about learning a tool, but about adopting a mindset, and failure is an important, even essential, part of the process. Learning how to design an experiment, run it, analyze the results (even when they're not what you expect), and then iterate based on those learnings is a fundamental skill. I encourage my students to constantly test, learn, and optimize in any role.

What is most important to you about teaching technical skills at General Assembly?

What's most important to me about teaching technical skills at General Assembly is driving tangible outcomes for students. I believe deeply that students learn best by doing, so my classes are structured to be very hands-on, making sure they gain practical skills to use at work. What's also incredibly rewarding is that every class reminds me there's something I could be doing better. The students constantly push me to refine my approach and deepen my own understanding.

What advice do you have for anyone looking to learn technical skills to reach new career goals?

My advice for anyone looking to learn technical skills to reach new career goals is to embrace hands-on learning and cultivate grit. Don't just read about it or watch tutorials; actively do it. Find projects, to apply what you're learning. Everyone faces challenges and makes mistakes, but that's where the real learning happens. That grit, to push through difficulties and keep practicing, is what leads to learning and achieving more.

What would you like to highlight about your experience in your technical domain outside of teaching?

Outside of teaching, I spend my time growing and scaling companies. My career has been focused on driving growth across both B2B and B2C organizations, taking companies from early stages to +$100M in revenue. This involves a lot of trying new things, learning from what works (and what doesn't!), and constantly adapting strategies. A significant part of this has been the strategic application of AI in marketing and growth, exploring how cutting-edge technology can enhance efficiency, personalization, and overall business performance.
