    Deputy Inspector, Commanding Officer of the NYC Police Department's 13th Precinct

    New York City

    Deputy Inspector Timoney joined the NYPD in 1998, starting in patrol at the 52nd Precinct in the Bronx. He has since worked in other Bronx precincts, at the Midtown North Precinct as a Sergeant, and in a unit that addresses quality-of-life issues. In 2011, he advanced to the title of Captain and was transferred to the 9th Precinct, where he served as Executive Officer. In 2013, Timoney became Commanding Officer of the 1st Precinct and subsequently transferred to the 13th Precinct as its Commanding Officer in March 2015. He was promoted to Deputy Inspector on August 31st, 2015. Timoney hails from a loyal lineage of NYPD officers; notably, his uncle is former First Deputy Commissioner John Timoney.
