Avni Trivedi spent her formative years immersed in the rich history, vibrant fashion and beautiful art of the Indian culture. As a young woman, Trivedi was fascinated by the crafts of local artisans and handmade fabrics she encountered at artisan fairs in the villages of Gujarat. Her fascination transformed into a hobby and she began designing clothes from local handmade fabrics. Trivedi continued her hobby and relocated to the United States in 2004 as a business student and upon graduating, worked five years in large corporations. In 2010, the Boston-based Trivedi decided to leave the corporate world, so that she could make her hobby into a successful business. She created the Avni fashion brand, which blends her Eastern heritage with her Western urban aesthetic, to provide a contemporary, organic fashion line for women.
