Austin is a software engineer at Amazon Web Services, working at the intersection of machine learning and AWS cloud computing architecture. He develops and deploys serverless applications for computer vision models using AWS cloud services including Opensearch, Fargate, and Sagemaker.

As a cloud consultant for the Federal Government, he strives to help Amazon customers take advantage of the full range of AI/ML tools and services available from AWS. He also teaches classes in AI/ML and data science with Python, and enjoys introducing his students to a wide range of AI/ML techniques.

Austin holds a PhD in Policy from the University of Maryland with a concentration in Survey Statistics, and over a dozen relevant certifications including the AWS Solutions Architect Professional certificate, AWS Machine Learning certificate, and a certificate in Data Science from General Assembly.
