As an adolescent, Egbuniwe was exposed to numerous sports-oriented camps where he learned the lifelong lessons of teamwork, dedication and leadership. His love for the athletics pushed Egbuniwe to play at the collegiate level. His team and coaches saw both skill and most importantly leadership in Egbuniwe that lead him to being selected as Captain of the Georgia Tech football team. After graduating from college, Egbuniwe chose a career in technology where he saw several parallels in the skills he learned beginning in elementary sports camps. Egbuniwe learned of the dwindling talent pool needed to fill our nation’s careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields and he was sparked to start AthleTECH. AthleTECH has developed a model that allows for a fun and meaningful integration between technology and entrepreneurship.
