Annie Abbott

Founder, habbot footwear

Melbourne

With a career that started in the London buying office of Net-a-porter.com, followed by a business strategy role at Sass & Bide in Sydney and onto a long awaited shift into product development for a Melbourne footwear group, it was only a matter of time before Annie Abbott turned her dream of launching a unique footwear brand into a reality and habbot was born.

After finishing school in 1994, Annie went on to complete a bachelor of Commerce at Melbourne University followed by a Diploma in interior decoration and design at RMIT. This mix of commerce and creativity has provided a solid foundation on which Annie has single handedly built a strong brand in a challenging retail sector.

In the five years since habbot was launched Annie has been formed several exciting partnerships and collaborations within Melbourne’s creative and design industry. She regularly partners with fashion brands such as Megan Park, Kate Sylvester and Macgraw in Melbourne fashion week runways, has dressed models for Martin Grant at the Royal Botanic Runway event and the hostess team at The Design Files Open House. Her shoes have been worn by local creatives such as Melanie Vellejo and abroad by Olivia Palermo. Her next collaboration with a popular Australian Artist will further cement the brand as a creative being that extends well beyond just the fashion market.
