Anabetsy Rivero is a biologist, biochemist, molecular biologist, and computer scientist. She graduated from MDC’s Honors College Dual Language Program in 2011 with an A.A. in biology. From there, she went on to pursue her B.S. in biochemistry and molecular biology with a minor in chemistry at University of Miami. She had her beginnings in cancer research at Harvard Medical School and then continued to explore several research fields at University of Miami, where she had her first job as a college graduate. There, she managed an oncogenomics research laboratory and subsequently a breast cancer laboratory. She then taught herself computer programming and gained acceptance to the M.S. in computer science at Nova. There,
she specialized in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data mining. During her time in the graduate program, Ms. Rivero wrote her own artificial intelligence framework, which she decided to use for the detection of breast cancer. She then founded Vidu AI, a Miami-based startup dedicated to the early detection of breast cancer using artificial intelligence algorithms on mammogram images. She has yet to obtain FDA clearance for her software to be available to hospitals. She has founded two other software companies for the development of artificial intelligence, blockchain, mobile applications, and web applications for her customers. Ms.Rivero is a frequent public speaker at technology events and appears frequently on TV discussing artificial intelligence in healthcare and other areas.
