    Amanda Wilson

    Senior Copywriter, REQ

    Washington, D.C.

As Senior Copywriter on REQ's content team, Amanda uses language to bridge the gap between the technical and the magical. Working with REQ's designers and creatives, she leverages a keen understanding of audiences and storytelling to ensure that brand messaging is not only authentic, but unforgettable.

A former journalist and blogger, Amanda has reported on topics ranging from DC real estate and start-ups to international news, and her writing earned her multiple national grants. Dual interests in content and technology led her to a role as a content evaluation specialist for United Press International's media development division where she worked with a small team to develop a proprietary tool for analyzing the quality of journalism content. Also with UPI, she designed and taught a course for developing-world journalists about promoting their work using on-page SEO tactics.

Driven by a passion for writing taglines and headlines, Amanda then pursued her calling as a copywriter with Bloomberg BNA, a news and information technology company, where she developed specialized messaging around hundreds of professional products for multi-channel, brand-integrated campaigns.

She holds a BA in Journalism from UNC Chapel Hill and an MA in Sociology and Social Anthropology from Central European University. A resident of Petworth in DC, she can be seen at the farmers market and growing veggies at her community garden plot.
