Amal Hussein

Amal is a web developer at Cengage Learning. She is a first generation Somali-American who was born in NYC and grew up in Dubai. She speaks 4 languages and have traveled to over 22 countries. At Worcester Polytechnic Institute she pursued a degree in Biomedical Engineering and developed the skills to design medical tools that could potentially improve health outcomes for patients in hospitals all over the world. She was hooked on making a big impact. With an increased exposure to the startup community in Boston post-graduation, she realized that the best way for her to make this kind of scaled impact was online. That’s when she decided she wanted to be a web developer. She is recent graduate of General Assembly's immersive web development program.
