As an innovative, dynamic, and strategic human resource practitioner with greater than 10 years of specialization in the development and implementation of HR programs, Alicia King has an established record of accomplishment and success with companies across multiple industries. King has demonstrated abilities in both unionized and nonunion work structures, driving her broad range of experiences toward organizational goals and development strategies. Her broad experience includes recruitment, onboarding, employee and labor relations, career coaching, diversity and inclusion, talent development, succession planning, and organizational design.

At the Urban Institute, King is a prominent leader in managing a strategic and comprehensive talent acquisition program that aligns with organizational priorities. In leading Urban’s talent acquisition activities, she applies best practices and tools that foster diverse candidate pipelines, support internal talent mobility, and measure the effectiveness of recruitment programs and operations. Before joining Urban, she supported talent management and talent acquisition efforts for SHRM, Comcast, and Southeastern Grocers. In addition, she provided diverse HR experience for General Electric, Georgia-Pacific, Schneider Electric, and the Cincinnati Reds.

King graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and has an MBA from the University of Phoenix in HR management. She also received Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) Senior Certified Professional, Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR), Six Sigma Black Belt, and DISC certifications.
