San Francisco
Alexandra Kenin grew up in Wyckoff, New Jersey. She studied French and business at Georgetown University and then spent a few years working and playing in New York City. She earned an MBA from the Wharton School and an MA from the Lauder Institute—both at the University of Pennsylvania. In 2007, Alexandra moved to San Francisco and worked as a product marketing manager at Google for nearly five years. After leaving Google, she began exploring the city, eventually coming up with the idea for her urban hiking tour company, Urban Hiker SF. Her company takes over 1,000 people on tours annually, and she has written the only guidebook to San Francisco’s 70 miles of trails called Urban Trails: San Francisco. She is now working on a second book, Urban Trails: East Bay. When she’s not out on the trails, Alexandra is a Studio Manager for Wordsmithie, an agency that works with tech companies on their content and design needs.
