Akuba T. Dawkins is a graduate of both the University of Georgia & Brenau University. She is a former Systems Integrations lead for a major IT consulting company. Wanting to pursue more creative work, she leveraged her IT consulting background and marketing acumen to transition into beauty marketing and promotions for Bronner Bros. She has since worked with dozens of multi-million dollar brands and beauty startups in skin and hair care providing marketing strategy and programming on projects nation-wide.
Akuba is the creator of curlPRess, an agency providing marketing strategy and support to small and medium size beauty brands. She is also the co-founder of Gravity Venture Partners where she combines her beauty and technology experiences to identify and support aspiring female entrepreneurs. Akuba lives on the Westside of Atlanta with her amazingly supportive husband Justin.
