About this event

March was Women's History Month. Join us as we kick off April by profiling some women currently making history. Featuring trailblazing women in tech, we'll hear the stories of three highly successful women from different fields within the tech industry. Afterwards, we'll open up the floor for an hour of networking with panelists and attendees.

Attendees will: Have the opportunity to connect with other women involved in the NYC tech community. Share their own stories about working in or breaking into the industry. Meet three successful women in tech who have accomplished their own career goals.

Speaker profiles:

Melissa Perri is an experienced Product Manager and UX Designer from New York City. She is the founder of ProdUX Labs (produxlabs.com), a consultancy that specializes in UX Design, Product Strategy, and Lean Startup. Previously she was the CEO of FlowsBy, incubated at the Techpeaks Accelerator in Italy. She has also worked at two startups in New York, as lead UX designer at Conductor and as a Product Manager at OpenSky. Having held various positions inside techcompanies from software engineer to designer, Melissa is passionate about understanding all sides of the development cycle, and using it to help teams work together effectively. A firm believer in lean methodologies and measurable design,Melissa teaches workshops and classes to help companies learn how to incorporate these methods. She also coaches and speaks about Lean UX and Lean Product at global conferences, most recently at Lean Agile Scotland. Melissa holds a B.S. in Operations Research and Information Engineering from Cornell University. Maddy Maxey:

An ever-curious 20 year old, passionate about all things fashionable and technological. Currently, building her 2nd company, CRATED wearables lab under the Thiel Fellowship.

Madison Maxey learned to sew at 8 and has been been working in the fashion industry since 15 with companies like Tommy Hilfiger, Nylon Magazine, and Peter Som. After spending a year in France at 16 and running a popular fashion blog that received invitations to Paris Haute Couture and Mercedez Benz Berlin fashion weeks, she returned to the states. Her senior year of high school, Maddy won aCFDA/Teen Vogue Scholarship for college and interned in California and New York. Maddy attended Parsons, the New School for Design for 4 months before taking a leave of absence to start her own clothing company. Madison Maxey Blazers led to a successfulKickstarter campaign, acknowledgement from industry leaders, and a love for entrepreneurship and tech. Since then, Maddy has learned HTML, CSS, Javascript, Ruby and Ruby on Rails and has worked for companies like Enstitute and General Assembly. She is now a Thiel Fellow for the class of 2013. Featured in New York Magazine, the Wall Street Journal, Her Campus, and many other press outlets, Maddy has been named a “Female Founder to Watch” by Women 2.0.

Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to support the Girls Who Code organization.
