About this event

In a world that offers us a litany of networking events and workshops to advance our career, many of us are starting to question what degree of extroversion truly helps us in the long run. When we feel depleted by our work circumstances, we can become unreliable for our friends and less available for the experiences in life that truly matter. How do we reconcile our desire to inject meaning into our lives with the realities of our day-to-day responsibilities?

In a theory she calls "Quiet Tribe," Jenny Feinberg, founder of Makespace Coworking, will share what she's learned about finding fulfillment at work by building a community of entrepreneurs and visionaries craving a kinder relationship to their 9-5. For many of us, time can feel like a more finite asset than money. To that end, Jenny has hosted over 40 quiet gatherings, (aka her "assault on networking,") where folks can concentrate on their work in spa-like settings. If/when they feel anxious or a bit overwhelmed, they're encouraged to take a break and connect with inspiring peers in the nearby vicinity instead of jumping to social media to ease their loneliness. In this talk, Jenny will share why our boldest ambitions can feel inherently lonely at times, and how important it is that we show up for one another over and over again to remain focused on the things that matter.
