About this event

We hear it all the time. “Think of it as an investment in yourself.” But what does that really mean? When you hear someone else tell you that, are they just trying to get you to spend money with them?

You don’t need to call something an investment to justify buying it. It’s okay to buy something because it’s something you value. It's also not an investment just because it's expensive :)

In this workshop, we unpack the phrase “Investing in yourself,” from how to avoid being duped into buying something that isn’t actually an investment, to the difference between investing in yourself vs. taking care of yourself, to how to figure out what “investing in yourself” means for you. You will learn:

  • how to prioritize and budget for self care and determine your needs (you can't invest in yourself unless you make sure you're taking care of yourself!)
  • how to define and refine your short term and long term goals so you understand what you need to invest in
  • what it really means to invest (both time and money) in products/ventures, and what you can reasonably expect in return
  • how to choose services, education, and products that are direct investments in your short and long term goals
  • how to understand exactly what you need to get out of these services/classes/products and how they will potentially benefit you
  • how to plan, save, and borrow for higher cost services/classes/products and integrate into your budget
