90% of startups fail. Paul Graham, the founder of Y Combinator, once said, “In a sense there's just one mistake that kills startups: not making something users want.” It sounds trivial, but 9 out of 10 startups get it wrong. The good news is: every startup can dramatically improve their odds of success by following a rigorous hypothesis-driven, validated learning process.
Students will learn basic tenants of the lean startup’s “validated learning” methodology and how to rigorously implement these ideas to maximize their odds of success. Students will see real-life examples (with real metrics!), pulled from our experiences as founders. Students will also be given the opportunity to apply / adapt these principles to their current projects / startups.
