Single-use plastic is drastically changing the state of Alaska's coastal communities with beaches covered in plastic washed ashore from around the world.
The impact of the environment is devastating and Katrina will discuss her work over the past decade working to tackle this problem through a Marine Debris grant resulting in over 90,000 pounds of plastic gathered off the beaches. Come to learn more about this firsthand account of how single-use plastic is affecting the most remote corners of the earth alongside ways to improve the problem.
The talk will also discuss how to address the problem closer to home here in London, and include an open forum for people to share their experiences cutting down on plastic and to discuss ways we can work together to collectively tackle the problem.
