About this workshop

Take your design skills to the next level with the Advanced UX series. Use the principles of Cognitive Psychology and Human Factors to get your design right the first time. Design to avoid predictable usability problems with a deep knowledge of human behavior. Defend your designs with science.

In this introductory workshop, we will explore why humans make mistakes and how to use design to prevent mistakes from happening in the first place. We will use real world examples ranging from the mundane (e.g. that darn caps lock key) to airplane crashes and nuclear meltdowns and apply those lessons to the digital world. The concepts covered are applicable to software design (mobile/web/desktop), physical product design, process design, and everyday life (e.g. You will never lock your keys in your car again)!
