Senior Data Scientist,
Jennifer Hobbs is a Data Scientist at STATS working with player-tracking data for basketball. Previously she was a Risk Insights Analyst in Predictive Analytics at Zurich Insurance. Jennifer completed her PhD in Physics and Astronomy at Northwestern University with a research focus in computational and statistical neuroscience. Her research explored the natural scene statistics of touch in order to understand how tactile features could be encoded by the brain.
Tyler Joyce is product manager at Next College Student Athlete (NCSA), the world’s largest and most successful college athletic recruiting network. In his role, Tyler is responsible for creating innovative digital experiences for student-athletes and college coaches that help improve the college recruiting process. Tyler champions the NCSA product vision, defining/executing the product roadmap, and works along NCSA data scientists to help push the business to solve problems with cutting edge technology.
Tyler earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Montana and his MBA in Sports and Entertainment Management from the University of Colorado Denver.
VP Business Development,
Rick Ehrman is currently responsible M&A, revenue diversification, and partnership management for SportsEngine / NBC Sports, the worlds largest Software-as-a-Service platform for youth sports and reside in Minneapolis, MN with his wife and five children.
Prior to this role, Rick was executive vice president of at Univision Communications, Inc., the leading media company serving Hispanic America. In that role, he oversaw and managed all aspects of strategy, finance and operations for Univision’s Corporate Development Group. He was responsible for identifying new services and opportunities with companies that recognize the benefits of investing in the Hispanic marketplace.
Mr. Ehrman is a 25-year industry veteran with deep experience in asset creation. Prior to joining Univision, he was managing director of Business Development at Frank N. Magid Associates, a leading research-based strategy consulting firm. Prior to this role, Ehrman served as founder and managing partner of Excelsior Equity Partners, where he led COO responsibilities for multiple portfolio companies which included providing strategic operational guidance, capital formation, business development and merge & acquisition advisory services.
He spent twelve years at General Electric, where he held multiple senior-level roles including vice president of Corporate Development at NBC Universal and senior vice president of Business Development at ShopNBC, general manager of WWDP Channel 46 Boston and president and COO for ShopNBC Direct. Ehrman holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of Wisconsin.

Ben Weiss is the Founder and CEO of Zcruit, a sports technology company that helps college coaches recruit smarter through data and analytics. Ben founded Zcruit while earning his undergraduate degree at Northwestern University. The company was acquired by Reigning Champs in 2017, and has become a leading innovator in the college athletic recruiting space. Under Ben’s leadership, Zcruit has established relationships with 40 Division 1 football programs, including Clemson, USC, Notre Dame, Michigan, LSU, and Texas. In 2018, Ben was named to Chicago Inno’s 25 Under 25 list recognizing Chicago’s top young tech leaders. In addition, he has been featured in articles in USA Today, The Associated Press, NBC News, and The Chicago Tribune.
Brian Hart is a Data Scientist at Catapult Sports where he works with inertial sensor and GPS data to provide insight to college and professional sports teams around athletic performance and team tactics. Prior to working at Catapult Sports, Brian served as Manager of Data Analytics for a charter school district in Cambridge, MA where he analyzed K-12 education data. He received his Masters of Science in Statistical Practice from Boston University where he focused on statistics, machine learning, and consulting. When he's not busy working with data or watching sports, he enjoys reading, running, and going on walks with his wife and their new dog.
